LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Jayden Spicer’s aunts, Samantha Brunty and Chyy Saylers, said the days leading up to the finding of his body on Tuesday were some of the hardest days of their lives.

Saylers said they worked closely with the Kentucky State Police to help during the search.

“I just hope and pray that that baby has his final moments of resting and everybody can know that he is safe,” Salyers said.

His aunts said the outpouring of community support has helped them to make it through this tough time.

They both said they felt like showing up for Wednesday’s community vigil was important.

“It’s a nightmare, I just feel like I can’t wake up from it, it doesn’t feel real,” Brunty said.

They also brought Jayden’s cousins and siblings to help them in their healing journey.

Tasha Shepherd is a family friend who says she was there when Jayden was born.

She said her son and Jayden were going to be in the same grade this school year, but she is glad to have some closure.

“He’s back with his mamaw, and that gives everyone peace,” Shepherd said.

Family and friends agree that Jayden’s energetic and fun personality will be missed.

“He was a happy kid, you know, he was spunky and very active,” Brunty said.

Father Jim is partnering with ‘Soul Shine Industries’ to make Jayden a customized Spider-Man themed casket.

Breathitt County Schools are asking students and staff to wear blue for Jayden tomorrow and Friday.

There will be another vigil for Jayden at 8:30 on Saturday at Douthitt Park in Jackson.
