On X, formerly known as Twitter, Sen. Paul called on the heads of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and U.S. Customs and Border Protection to testify before the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, which Sen. Paul is the chairman of.
On Tuesday, Jan. 27, Sen. Paul made a post saying all three officials had agreed to testify on Feb. 12.
In a separate X post, Sen. Paul said an independent investigation is “the least that should be done” for calm to be restored, saying local police routinely put officers involved in fatal shootings on administrative leave until an independent investigation is concluded.
“That should happen immediately,” Sen. Paul said in his post. “I can’t recall ever hearing a police chief immediately describing the victim as a ‘domestic terrorist’ or a ‘would-be assassin.’”
