Fight for Air Climb raises more than $150,000 for American Lung Association at Lynn Family Stadium
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Hundreds of people put their lungs to the test on Sunday as Lynn Family Stadium hosted its Fight for Air Climb.
More than 300 participants walked through the facilities over 1,000 steps in an effort to raise money for the American Lung Association.
One of the organizers said that people from all walks of life show up to support them.
“We have loved ones that we’re climbing in honor and in memory of today,” American Lung Association Leadership Board member Lee Wisdom said. “We’ve got respiratory therapists. We’ve got nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians. We’ve got groups of healthcare individuals. We’ve also got firefighters that are going to do this in full gear, representing and being our healthcare and our local heroes.”
This year’s fundraising goal was $150,000 to help support lung health and clean air.
This morning, they surpassed that number by $6,000.
