‘Beloved’ Florence water tower overflowing due to overnight storms
FLORENCE, Ky. (WKYT) - The Mall Road area in Florence experienced a power outage early this morning, leading to the Florence Y’all Water Tower overflowing.
Florence government officials say Greater Cincinnati Water Works was actively filling the tower during normal operations, but power loss meant the pumps were unable to move water through the system.
Officials say the water coming from the tower is a normal response for the situation, and means the system is working as designed to prevent damage to the structure.
Power has not been restored to the area according to officials. Greater Cincinnati Water Works made adjustments to pump water around the tower.

No impacts were made to water services or supply for customers, officials say.
The pumps were reportedly undamaged, and minor repairs are being made.
Officials say the water tower will return to normal operations once electricity is restored and repairs are finished.
