Berea launches project to honor veterans in time for Fourth of July celebrations
BEREA, Ky. (WKYT) - Berea Tourism launched a program to hang 50 banners bearing the image of Berea veterans.
This year was the pilot of the program. Berea Tourism Program Director Laura Poulette says they weren’t sure how people would respond.

The program has reportedly had a very positive response from community members so far. Berea government officials say there are already people on the waiting list for next year.
Banners are funded jointly by veterans’ families and the city government. They depict living and now-deceased veterans, their branch of service and for some, the years they served.
The banners will remain hung on Chestnut Street until Veteran’s Day. They will then be taken down, with plans to hang them again in June 2027.
