Russell Springs man arrested after soliciting underage girls in Whitley County, police say

CORBIN, Ky. (WKYT) - A Russell Springs man faces charges after police say he picked up two underage girls from their home in Whitley County and solicited them on Aug. 19.

The Corbin Police Department says that Baseler Lafrance had met the two girls on a dating website but had sent them photos of someone else.

Lafrance was allegedly giving the pair a ride to a friend’s house but made comments that made them uncomfortable and made excuses when the girls asked him to take them home.

The girls were eventually able to get Lafrance to drop them off at Walmart, according to police, where they contacted law enforcement.

During the investigation, police reportedly found explicit photographs of the girls on Lafrance’s phone and that he offered them money in exchange for sexual favors.

He was arrested and charged with prostitution, unlawful transaction with a minor and possessing matter showing a sexual performance by a minor.

Lafrance is lodged at the Whitley County Detention Center.
