LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - We’ve had a cool start to our Labor Day, but hot and humid conditions will return before long.

Labor Day Forecast

Today will have passing clouds and temperatures reaching the mid to upper 80s by the afternoon.

There is a slight chance of light rain in the Lake Cumberland area between 8-11 pm this evening. Other than that, conditions will be dry until late Wednesday night.

Back to the 90s

Temperatures will slowly but surely warm over the next few days, peaking in the low 90s on Wednesday. Dewpoints will climb as well, so it will feel muggy mid-week.

Afternoon highs will drop to the low-80s on Friday, but the relief from heat will not last long. By next Sunday, temperatures will again reach the upper 80s with some low 90s.

Late-week Storms

Showers and thunderstorms are likely to enter from the north late Wednesday night, becoming widespread on Thursday. A lingering shower or two is possible on Friday and Saturday.
