Car hits deer, catches fire on I-75

A car burst into flames Sunday morning shortly after hitting a large deer on I-75 just south of Lexington.

Police say it happened around 6:30 a.m. on the northbound side of the interstate near mile marker 106.

No one in the car was injured.

Firefighters were able to knock out the fire pretty quickly, though cold temperatures caused the water to freeze on the roadway.

Drivers will be directed around the frozen areas until the ice thaws.
