Customs officers sent him to a secondary inspection after noticing what they called an “unexplained bulge” near his waist.

A pat-down allegedly uncovered six plastic containers hidden in pockets sewn into his underwear.

Authorities said the containers held 10 live birds.

Hernandez Castillo allegedly said the birds were for his “personal use.”

He is charged with smuggling goods and was released on a $25,000 bond.
