Bourbon fans snap up American Pharoah Maker's Mark bottles

People lined up outside liquor stores hoping to get their hands on Maker's Mark bottles commemorating American Pharoah's Triple Crown victory.

The bottles, featuring the blue and yellow of the Zayat Stables silks and portrait of the thoroughbred, hit shelves at liquor stores in several states Sunday afternoon.

People lined up around the building at the Liquor Barn near Hamburg in Lexington. Gerald Combs said he got in line around 4:30 Sunday morning. He said he had been collecting the racing-themed bottles for a while.

'I've got Affirmed, Secretariat, Seattle Slew, and then this one," he said.

Further down the line, Darryl Geis said waiting for a few hours was part of the fun.

"I've never met a bad person out here. Everybody out here is pretty good people. Of course, we've all got something in common," he said.

American Pharoah's owners, Ahmed and Justin Zayat, trainer Bob Baffert, and Maker's Mark President Rob Samuels will sign the bottles Wednesday in Louisville.
