Community gathers to pray at Tates Creek High School

Since November 2, three Tates Creek High School students have been arrested for having a gun on school property.
The three students told police they had the guns because of situations outside of school.
"We never know how much kids go through when they leave school. Schools are usually considered a safe place so after they leave here some don't have that safe place," said Associate Pastor Guilluame Smith.
Growth Point Church and other local church members came together on Saturday as one congregation to pray for the children.
"We pray Lord for all these children again that you will encourage them."
Many of the people believe community involvement can help children in the neighborhood.
"I think it would be a shame for it to be in our backyard and for us to sit in our corner and not come directly so I felt it was important for us to come here directly and we've been very surprised by the response," Growth Point Church's Pastor Mario Radford.
There were nearly 50 people taking part in the prayers.
